Things were settled. The plan was to practice every Thursday and start rehearsing for gigs and live shows. We were a band of 4. I was the main vocalist and the rhythm guitarist. Eyad Amar was the lead guitarist and back-up vocalist. Khaled Sabah was the drummer and Youssef Basha was the bassist. Weeks progressed and our first gig was coming up. The Annual school talent show was a great place to start off our music careers. However, we knew something was missing in the band. We needed a 5th member. We decided to add a close friend, Omar Ebeid to our ranks. He became the rhythm guitarist and I became the lead vocalist. We started rehearsing for our show and chose two songs to perform. The songs were "Use Somebody" and "Here Without You". Eyad was insisting to sing "Use Somebody" even though all of us knew that wasn't the perfect song for him to sing. Basically, he wanted to switch roles with me for that specific song. We decided to switch and see how it goes. The show was an hour away. We were getting ready and we were fired up. Little did I know that our show would be a partial failure. Our vocals were all over the place in "Use Somebody" and the guitars were not in sync. The drums were too low and it sounded horrible. Eyad was nervous and his nerves got the better of him. He could not hit the high notes. Once we played "Here Without You", things started turning around. Eyad felt more comfortable singing back-up vocals and managed to produce a great back-up to the chorus. The audience knew the song and they were singing along which gave us more motivation to spark things up. We let loose and just enjoyed being on stage. If it wasn't for that moment, that reaction from the crowd when I started to sing, I probably would have never even thought of producing and recording music. However, time passed on and Eyad was getting too personal with the band. We cut him loose along with Ebeid. Ebeid was too focused on his work and we decided its better for him to focus on one thing.
